This series of micro-learning courses is designed to introduce learners to the innovative transportation research being conducted at the Alabama Transportation Institute (ATI). Grounded in ATI’s interdisciplinary focus, the courses highlight the institute’s core research pillars—Automated, Connected, Electric, Shared, and Safe (ACES²) Mobility—and illustrate how these areas intersect to shape the future of transportation systems.
Beyond research awareness, the series is intentionally structured to support a workforce development pipeline by connecting foundational concepts to real-world applications, emerging technologies, and transportation-related careers. Learners gain the knowledge needed to actively engage in ATI professional development sessions and to confidently contribute to a workforce development pipeline that prepares the next generation of talent for advanced transportation, infrastructure, and mobility-focused industries.
